Project Based Learning is a great approach that aligns well with three dimensional instruction. The planning process for a PBL unit is very similar to an NGSS storyline.  Instead of working to “explain a phenomenon,” however, students are working to “solve a problem.” This is a great opportunity to tie in engineering practices.
